Every Friday I have a practice - its to write you a note. I do not think about it all week, until after my yoga on Friday mornings. Usually I get hit with an idea, an inspiration, a message. Sometimes its immediate, sometimes it takes 5 minutes. And every once in a while - it doesn't come. Its just blank. No wisdom, No insight, nothing interesting to say. That happened today.
So I said, ok, I'm just going to sit down and start writing about this experience of drawing blank and see what happens...
And it made me want to write this, right now:
Our brilliance comes from our humanity. An artist I dated in my 20's taught me that my true beauty was in my "flaws". Wow, that was a mind changing lesson. So as we all embark on this transition from summer to fall - don't try to be perfect, don't try to make your kids perfect, or even your partner for that matter. Know that your own brilliance comes from your humanity (and being perfect is such a bore :)
