I had a great conversation the other day with a fabulous woman who talked about the “race to nowhere” we are all running, and how busy life is. Whether its about your body, your face, your children/parenting, your material wealth, etc…where do we end up? (dead, etc.) I know this is not an original thought, but what if we thought of life as art? The art of living. Not a race, but a painting, a movie, a play, a dance, a poem or song. That would change the quality of how it feels to live a life. I think/know it would feel softer and more mindful, but also perhaps more fun, expressive, free and open. Reminds me of a quote we put on t shirts sometimes – “minute by minute, thought by thought, your mind is what shapes your life” by Gurumayi. Let’s create a beautiful life from the inside out – multidimensional and interesting. From the inside out is breath is yoga is taking care. Dismiss perfection. The dynamic beauty really resides in the flaws, and the play between the dark and light. Also – it’s important to smile a lot and laugh a lot, even if you are faking it.
