We made it! The first full week of 2019 is behind us. I am feeling inspired, purposeful, petrified and courageous all at the same time. I am also very grateful, which serves as an anchor for me amidst the rest of my internal landscape.
My own self-care routine holds the space for these emotions and my awareness of them. For example, it’s my movement practice/fitness that connects me to my sense of purpose, courage, and strength. It’s my meditation practice that brings to light my fear and vulnerability as well as my inspiration and gratitude.
The idea is, as Walt Whitman explains in Leaves of Grass….
”I am large, I contain multitudes.”
We are complex beings. We need different practices to support our multitudes and give voice to our strength and softness, our fear and courage.
